Vadis, sponsor of the KDD 09 conference, is the first European company to be ranked in the best performers of the KDD09 Cup Fast modeling challenge !

This conference is the most important conference worldwide on the application of data mining on large databases. This year the KDD Cup focused on benchmarking the capacity of the participants to build reliable models on very large databases in a short period of time. One week was granted to build 3 models to predict appetency, churn, and cross-selling in the Telco sector, on real data provided by Orange. 15.000 variables were given describing 50.000 clients.  With its tools RANK, Vadis was able to submit excellent models as from the first day, just by using the default full automatic settings of its tool RANK. Some tuning of the parameters allowed us to be finally scored at the 16th position on a total of 453 participating teams, across all over the world. including Academic Research centers.  Vadis is the first European company in the top list, showing that innovation in Brussels and at Vadis is a reality.
