Libei Chen - Partner

Libei owns a Ph.D. and a Master in Applied Sciences from the UCL, Belgium, has an Engineering degree in Applied Mathematics, and has worked for 3 years in a post-doc position in the field of Artificial Intelligence at the Universities of Birmingham and of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K. She is an invited professor in Data Mining at the Statistical Institute, a fellow of IAG-Louvain School of Management and a member of the Machine Learning Group of the UCL. Libei has 20 years of experience in projects involving mathematical modeling, control and optimization of processes, data mining and statistics. Prior to VADIS, she was responsible of the Business Intelligence team within the R&D department of Fortis Bank, where she was the corner stone of all analytical developments used to drive the international expansion of the Commercial & Private Banking. The success of her team, and the analytical approach they built in sustaining the expansion plans of Fortis, has been tremendous. Prior to joining Fortis, Libei assumed the role of analytical CRM Practice Manager for Business & Decision, a BI consulting company. Before that, she was senior Data Mining consultant and analytical CRM Team Manager for Norkom, a service and software company active in the field of analytical CRM, where she was also an key member of R&D. Before joining the world of the consultance, Libei carried out many R&D projects at the University in control, modeling and optimization for some industrial companies such as Glaxo SmithKline, Slegten-Magotteaux, Solvay, Cockerill Sambre, etc.

Claude Delcour - Partner 

Claude owns a Master in Management from EPM, Belgium, after having obtained several studies including a bachelor in Commercial and Financial Sciences, a master degree of company auditing from ISCSL, Belgium, a Complementary legal formation from the UCL, Belgium. Claude has more than 20 years of experience in such areas as Business Intelligence, Marketing, audit and revision of companies EMS, Risk Management, and R&D direction.  Claude has been the Director of R&D for more than 5 years, where he plays the role of visionary leader in the design, the delivery and the communication of all the BI solutions at Fortis Commercial & Private Banking Business Line, in the support of their strategic expansion in Europe. The achievements of Claude in this role have been highly successful, bringing to the Bank actionable and extremely successful recommendations that drove the rapid expansion of Fortis on the international market. Before accepting the direction of R&D, Claude had played many operational roles in the bank. He was Business Corporate Creditman, Branch Manager, Commercial Director of a great number of agencies, Marketing Manager for SME and Professionals and Sales Support and Communication Manager.  Claude also taught postgraduate matters such as Statistics, Theory of decision-making aid, General economic movements, techniques of the financial transactions and investments.

Thierry Van de Merckt - Partner

Thierry owns a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the Free University of Brussels, and has worked 2 years in a post-doc at the Basser Department of Computer Science with Ross Quinlan, in Sydney, Australia. He is professor in the MBA of the Solvay Business School, ULB. Thierry has 15 years experience in the field of Business Intelligence and in particular in Analytical BI. Prior to founding VADIS Consulting, he was manager of Norkom Belgium, a service and software company active in the field of analytical CRM. Whilst being at Norkom, Thierry managed numerous successful international projects in the field of client behaviour modelling, in the sector of finance and Telco. He also was an active member of the  R&D board. Before that, Thierry led the Business Intelligence centre of excellence at Computer Sciences Corporation, Benelux. The achievements of Thierry's group in Fraud detection and data warehouse projects have been tremendous. He was at the origin of the first fraud detection platform in the Belgium public sector (OASIS at Ministry of Social Affair), directly linked to the Companies Public databank (Kruispuntbank).
